Totus Christus
Finally. Mike Bull has done it. Finally. Totus Christus is a tour de force of Biblical Theology. Here we have a book that believes the Bible is the Word of God and is not ashamed of any part of it. Bull believes in Biblical History all the way down to the talking serpent in the garden. Here we have a faithful exposition of the Symbolic, Typological and Poetic theology of the Bible that does not sacrifice faith in the Literal and Historical.
Mike Bull has laid out for us why the destruction of the Temple in A.D. 70 is not just history but is a historic-redemptive event. Here is a joy ride not only through the words of the Bible but through the way God has given those words. Mike pays attention to the details, believing that God has spoken nothing superfluous. Here we have a book that is unashamed of an optimistic eschatology. We are led delightfully through the story of the Bible with the belief that the Kingdom of Christ will be victorious in history.
Mike’s book is simultaneously compelling and maddening. It is compelling because it is so saturated with Scripture and moves so seamlessly through the story. Mike makes biblical connections that will thrill you and drive you deeper and deeper into your Bible. You will be amazed at all of the things that were always in your Bible that you simply missed. Mike brings them to light in a faithful way that leads to Doxology. Totus Christus will madden you by challenging so many of your long held assumptions. You may just need to give them up in favor of his exposition. That hurts sometimes but it is a good hurt.
Mike Bull’s book, Totus Christus, is a gift to the Church. It should be read and re-read many times. We should spend hours of study under this important book. It is about time someone yelled loud enough so that what James B. Jordan and others have been doing should be hidden no more. Blessings to you, Mike Bull, and on this great labor of love you have written. Being the Calvinist that I am, I give it FIVE stars.

Was he reviewing the same draft as myself?

Yes – the printed review edition – but he’s more versed in Jordanese.
Your criticism was very helpful.

One day, I will get the complete Jordan collection. One day. I at least have most of his books. I should go back and read TC again.
