Lent on-the-go
Ah, America. Being the land of freedom isn’t all bad. Some of the extremes are good. Doug Wilson writes:
This being the season of Lent and all, we want to make sure that we don’t let it slip past us without the appropriate festivities. Last Wednesday, which was Ash Wednesday, we had just such a festivity at a main intersection in our small little not very Lenty town. There was a fellow out there with a homemade sign, one side of which said, “Ash 2 Go” and the obverse saying, “Got Ash?” Working alongside this fellow, applying ash to the foreheads of compliant passers-by, was a woman in a long white clerical robe and a rainbow stole.
Ah, America! Some might ask why. We reply with why not?
